Mountpark Logisitcs has agreed a deal to forward fund the development of 750,000 sq ft of warehouse space at Omega South.

The premises will be built by Omega Warrington Ltd, with work having already started.

When completed and fully occupied, the new cluster – to be named Mountpark Warrington – could support up to 2,000 jobs.

Mountpark has committed to funding the scheme speculatively, with three units of 346,153 sq ft, 136,962 sq ft and 90,771 sq ft to be built in a first phase of development ahead of a November 2018 completion. A fourth unit totalling 183,669 sq ft is fully consented and will follow as a second phase.

David Milloy, joint managing director of Omega Warrington, said: "This announcement marks the second speculative deal done at Omega. It demonstrates that major UK and overseas investors have confidence in the local market and the attraction of Omega to businesses. 

"We look forward to welcoming further occupiers to Omega South and promoting more jobs to local people."
