UK Tights expands with hosiery deal

Date added: 26/05/2016

Macclesfield-based UK Tights has acquired a tights business to boost its presence in the hosiery retail market.

UK Tights said that My Tights, which is no longer operating, had been one of the biggest hosiery retailers as well as a leading name in e-commerce legwear. The acquisition covers MyTights.com and MyTights.co.uk.

Founded in 2005 by Dawn (pictured) and Jonathan Barber, UK Tights currently has an annual turnover of £1.3m.

Dawn Barber, managing director of UK Tights, said: "With more customers in our care alone, it will mean more opportunities for growth. With this growth we will begin to hire a larger team that will include copywriters, warehouse staff and website developers that will lead to better service and to an easier and more fluid experience on our site.

"In short, we are stronger together than we can ever be apart. We will remain a small and close-knit team, yet our abilities and opportunities will increase immeasurably."
