Amazon takes Alliance Warrington unit

Date added: 29/10/2014

Property Alliance Group has let a 90,000 sq ft warehouse in Warrington to e-commerce giant Amazon on a 12-month lease.

The former Marks & Spencer unit in Kingsland Grange has a quoted rent of £5.25/sq ft.

It is understood that Amazon took the warehouse as part of seasonal expansion plans.

Property Alliance Group currently has a planning application under consideration for the extension of the unit, which will see a further 33,000 sq ft added.

According to regional industrial agents, there is still a larger Amazon requirement in the market, however the size is rumoured at anything from the 1m sq ft first discussed in 2012, to a range of 500,000 sq ft, 250,000 sq ft and 100,000 sq ft units. The transient nature of the e-commerce industry and Amazon's needs has been attributed as the reason for the shift in demand.

B8 Real Estate is the agent on the site.
