A family-owned auction house in Warrington has expanded with a six-figure investment.
Omega Auctions is hiring three new employees after using a £450k funding package, provided by NatWest, to acquire new premises on Sankey Valley Industrial Estate.
The £1.3m-turnover firm, owned by Paul and Karen Fairweather, said the move and staff increase will enable it to accommodate increasing customer demand.
Omega Auctions is best-known for its role in the sale of a pair of glasses owned by Beatles legend John Lennon.
Former chartered accountant Paul, who left his job to launch the company with his wife in 2010 following a serious road accident, said: "After my accident I got a whole new outlook on life and knew I didn’t want to be a chartered accountant for the rest of my life.
"We’ve been incredibly lucky to have been able to sell iconic pieces from the likes of The Beatles and Elvis Presley.”
He added: "Over the past seven years we have grown as a business and thanks to the support of NatWest we are able to facilitate further growth with our new premises and expanded team.”
NatWest relationship manager Mike Denning commented: "This latest move will provide a base for Omega Auctions, to further grow their business and generate new income streams.
"We wish Paul, Karen and the team the best of luck for the future.”
