Founded in 2001 as an IT support firm, it started to shift the focus of the business towards cloud computing in 2011 by retraining staff and implementing new strategies.

Axon said that the success of its transition to a cloud computing services provider helped it achieve a record year in 2014 with revenues hitting £1.6m, up by 40 per cent year-on-year.

The company is now concentrating on offering business-focused end-to-end Microsoft cloud computing services including public, private and hybrid cloud, VoIP telephony and technical support.

Tim Mears, managing director for Axon, said: "Cloud technology offers our customers a cost-effective alternative to traditional on-premise IT solutions, providing businesses with the tools to work smarter, driving productivity and maintaining competitive advantage.

"The success we have experienced during our transition to a cloud provider stands the business in good stead to continue along our business growth strategy, working with the latest technologies to offer our customers the most advanced solutions on the market."
