The recruitment specialist said it experienced an especially strong end to the year, with sales for the final quarter rising 47 per cent compared with a year earlier. Overall yearly revenues were up 22 per cent.

The company also attributed the growth to a sustained increase in the number of permanent senior and executive recruitment briefs across the north and Midlands.

"We have experienced growth in all areas but in particular we have seen a significant increase in the amount of six-figure retained assignments we have been instructed on, and a growing appetite to appoint more generally at the executive level," said Axon's managing director Andy Edwards.

"The people that make up Axon Resourcing have made the business stronger than ever and we are extremely confident of another year of substantial growth in 2015."
