The first three speakers for the Blue Skies series of events at the International Festival for Business 2016 (IFB2016) in Liverpool have been revealed.
Former South African president FW De Clerk, former Goldman Sachs economist Lord O'Neil and Severn Trent Water chief executive Liv Garfield are the first confirmed participants in the series, which aims to "give attendees the opportunity to listen to events that have shaped a group of fascinating people's lives". The Blue Skies series will be held at the end of each day of the festival.
Further Blue Skies speakers will be announced over the coming weeks. In addition, the festival is launching a search for further speakers that festival attendees would like to hear from with the #searchforblueskies Twitter campaign.
Jude Kelly, creative director of the International Festival for Business 2016, said: "The Blue Skies series is an exceptional addition to the 2016 festival.
"The opportunity to hear from a group of the most fascinating global figures is a huge draw for Festival attendees. I am delighted to welcome FW De Klerk, Lord O'Neil and Liv Garfield as the first of our speakers and look forward to learn who else will be taking part."
Backed by the government, the International Festival for Business 2016 aims to be the world's biggest business festival. It will bring together thousands of global businesses, providing a platform for companies to connect and conduct international commerce.
The festival, which starts on 13 June 2016, will focus on three key sectors that are transforming the business landscape of Britain and beyond in manufacturing; creative and digital; and energy and environment.
