A Cheshire commercial landscaping company has secured a £1.35m finance facility to further diversify its business model after winning a contract with a hotel near Manchester Airport.
Peter Ashley has received the cash from Barclays to buy a car park on Irvin Drive, where it will park guests' cars when flying from Manchester.
The business was established in 1962 and specialises in hard and soft landscaping. However, it has also been operating a smaller car parking site at its headquarters on Moss Lane, Styal, and the new Irvin Drive site will allow it to expand this part of the company.
Ian Jones, relationship manager at Barclays, said: "Peter Ashley Ltd is a long standing customer of Barclays and this deal represents a very exciting new phase for the business.
"They are a well-run family business with over 50 years of experience and an appetite to invest and expand.
"With their strong track record and very capable management team, we have been able to support them take a new business idea to the next level and their drive and determination has been rewarded by securing the this major contract."
Stockport-based accountancy firm Bennett Verby advised on the deal.
