Cheshire manufacturers in line for £4,000 bonus
Cheshire-based manufacturing businesses are in line for a £4,000 bonus, with the launch of The Cheshire Profit Programme
The Manufacturing Institute and Cheshire & Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP are inviting small and medium sized manufacturing businesses with fewer than 250 employees to participate in the profit improvement and benefit from £4,000 worth of business support.
The funding is designed to help local manufacturers increase efficiency, improve sales and skills, unlock cashflow, boost innovation, or tackle any business issues that will profit their individual business.
Companies from any manufacturing sector are invited to participate in a fully funded business review session at their factory. This provides an opportunity to discuss current challenges with a manufacturing expert, who will listen carefully and then help create an action plan for immediate business performance improvement.
The funding can then be used towards purchasing the specialist support and advice to help the company deliver improvements and increase profits, including developing the skills of its management team.
The Manufacturing Institute, which is the UK's longest established charity focused on the manufacturing sector, is funding the £2.4 million Profit Programme. This is matched by support from the European Regional Development Fund.
The Cheshire & Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) fully supports The Cheshire Profit Programme. Christine Gaskell, LEP Chair, said: "Manufacturing is the lifeblood of Cheshire and Warrington and perhaps the single greatest contributor to our economic success. It is our responsibility to ensure that manufacturing businesses across the sub-region have the necessary support and advice when needed and The Cheshire Profit Programme is a great example of how we can do this.
"We are delighted to be supporting a programme that will help businesses improve their performance and skills, ensuring they can continue to provide a valuable contribution to our local economy.”
Julie Madigan, Chief Executive of The Manufacturing Institute, said: "We know that Cheshire manufacturers will benefit greatly from this project because it's based on a system we have perfected over the past 20 years. In the past decade alone our seasoned business and manufacturing professionals have shared their wisdom and brainpower with 4,000 manufacturing businesses to generate a £1.1 billion profit boost for these firms."
