Energy breakfast speakers unveiled

Date added: 28/01/2016

Insider has confirmed six high-profile speakers for its breakfast debate on the North West energy sector.

The event, which will take place at the Hallmark Hotel in Handforth near Manchester Airport on 12 February 2016, will explore electricity, renewables and nuclear innovation across the region.

Confirmed speakers include: Steve Johnson, chief executive at Electricity North West; Paul Harding, former managing director and special adviser to Urenco; and Adrian Bull, director of external relations at the National Nuclear Laboratory.

They will be joined by: Matthew Hirst, chief executive at Utiligroup; Dean Cockett, co-founder and director at Businesswise Solutions; and Barny Evans, renewable energy and sustainable development director at WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff.

The energy industry is at the centre of a perfect storm: escalating costs of generation, declining reserves and the prospect of the lights going out remain huge concerns for business.

Insider's energy debate will bring together key figures in the energy industry to explore where the solutions are coming from and how businesses are responding to their green obligations.

The event is sponsored by Electricity North West, Businesswise Solutions, DLA Piper and Utiligroup.
