More than 60 individuals, initiatives and businesses will compete for top honours at the 13th Marketing Cheshire Annual Awards on 23rd November at Chester Racecourse.
The awards celebrate excellence and outstanding achievement by local businesses and individuals with the winners of some categories going on to represent Cheshire at the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2018.
The nominees represent the great variety of businesses that contribute to Cheshire’s visitor economy which was worth £3.3 billion and employed over 42,000 people in 2016.
Katrina Michel, Chief Executive, Marketing Cheshire said: "The quality and high standard of entries in this year’s awards demonstrates the strength of our visitor economy in Cheshire, which grew by 8.8 per cent in 2016. Tourism is still an underrated sector. It is worth nearly £130 billion which is 2.5 times the automotive sector and is growing faster than digital. Cheshire is home to a growing number of globally recognised tourism brands and a growing group of world class tourism professionals. The award ceremony which will take place at Chester Racecourse on 23 November will celebrate their achievements and hopefully reveal some stars of the future."
