Private equity-backed MKM Building Supplies has created 16 jobs with a new branch in Warrington.
Having opened a branch in the Gloucestershire market town of Newent last month (August), MKM Warrington, which will be home to MKM’s full product portfolio, becomes the builders’ merchant's 49th branch nationally.
Hull-based MKM has been embarking on a strategic growth initiative, selecting locations throughout the country to launch new branches.
The Warrington base is the company’s fifth in the North West.
Ian Greenhough, one of two branch directors at the Winwick Road location, said: "Anyone popping into this new branch is going to be served by a carefully-selected team of local people and specialists."
Earlier this year, Bain Capital swooped for the MKM stakes previously held by 3i and LDC, with the company's existing management retaining a significant shareholding.
