Small Business Saturday in Cheshire got a boost from Secretary of State for Northern Ireland Theresa Villiers MP, who, with local MP Graham Evans showed their support by dropping into a small business legal support session being held by Frodsham law firm Rowlinsons Solicitors. Small Business Saturday is designed to celebrate the UK’s business community and as part of this the award winning law firm held a drop-in session on 7th December to give free advice to small businesses. While the Secretary of State and Graham Evans MP weren't looking for business tips, they did want to show their support for the nationwide initiative.
Andrew Graves, Rowlinsons Solicitors' new Managing Director, said: "It shows genuine support for small businesses when the local MP and a Secretary of State show their faces at sessions such as the one we held at Rowlinsons. We wanted to give a free legal health check for small companies so as to help them overcome the various legal hurdles and ultimately to enable them to grow and develop."
The two MPs were not the only politicians at Rowlinsons Solicitors that day.
Andrew Graves explained: "We are used to having a politician in our midst. Sara Wakefield, a trainee solicitor at our firm, also happens to be Mayor of Frodsham and she too was there to lend her support to small businesses on the day.
"We were proud to take part in the first ever Small Business Saturday and will continue to support the business community all year round."
Rowlinsons is an award winning law firm, with awards including the National Law Society Award for Excellence in Practice Management. Rowlinsons provides a number of legal services for businesses as well as individuals.
Joining the firm at the business drop in sessions were West Cheshire & North Wales Chamber of Commerce, Nat West Bank and Blue Orchid who deliver start-up advice and support, as well as an independent business advisor.
