Surrey tech firm sets up Northern base at Sci-Tech Daresbury

Date added: 08/03/2018

Tech firm G3G has chosen Sci-Tech Daresbury for its new Northern UK base.

The company, a provider of SAP Enterprise Management services covering finance, supply chain and analytics, signed up for 4,300 sq ft at the campus’ Techspace Two scheme.

Headquartered in Surrey, G3G was founded in 1999 as a provider of SAP consultancy services throughout Europe. It is now an international brand and part of technology group GroupElephant.com, which has over 2,000 employees based in 22 countries.

G3G’s SAP services for businesses focus on cloud technology, digital transformation, application management, infrastructure technical services and hosting.

It eventually plans to turn its Sci-Tech Daresbury site into a 50-employee SAP support centre.

G3G chief exec Chris Gunter said: "[Sci-Tech Daresbury] offers excellent facilities and encourages people to gather together having fostered a genuine culture of collaboration and networking.”

"Additionally, Techspace Two is a building that says ‘this is the future’ and very much reflects G3G’s own ethos and growth plans.”

He continued: "Sci-Tech Daresbury feels like the Silicon Valley of the North West because of the quality and excellence of its tenant companies and the ambition and vision of the joint venture partners. We intend to grow our northern base rapidly and the campus enjoys a large recruitment area as well as superb connectivity across the North West and into North Wales.”

Sci-Tech Daresbury, which has Enterprise Zone status, represents a joint-venture partnership between developer Langtree, Halton Borough Council and the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC).

Langtree group MD John Downes, board member of the Sci-Tech Daresbury joint venture company, commented: "Having a company like G3G with its global footprint expanding its operations to Sci-Tech Daresbury marks a great success for the first quarter of this year and we are delighted to welcome all G3G’s staff to our burgeoning community.”
